CAN'T THINK OF WHAT TO DRAW?
Check out our inspiration section for user uploaded reference photos. If you have a great pic, you can even upload your own content for other artists to draw.
LEARNING HOW TO DRAW?
We have lessons using our unique patent-pending learning method. You can also turn ANY photo into a step by step shading drawing lesson.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Based on a tool that has been used by artists for centuries, this app is a digital version of a Camera Lucida.
You suspend your iPhone or iPad above or in front of your canvas with a stand, tall glass, or other objects easily found around your house.
When you look through your phone, you will see both the image and the canvas simultaneously. It's similar in functionality to an art projector or light box, but with the ability to do so much more.
You can draw on any surface, zoom in to draw micro details in your drawing, and you don't have to draw in the dark.
WILL THIS HELP ME LEARN HOW TO DRAW?
Using Da Vinci Eye, you will be training your eye to recognize proportions and draw with shading while training your hand to translate precise lines and strokes on paper. You’ll learn faster and more efficiently using our proven techniques compared to any other app.
AR MODE REQUIREMENTS
To use AR mode, you must have an A10x or A11 processor and above. We recommend using:
– iPhone 8 and newer (iPhone 7 and below will not work)
– iPad Mini 5th Generation and newer
– iPad Air 2019 and newer
– iPad Pro 3rd Gen (Any pro made after 2018) and newer
AR & CLASSIC MODE
AR mode anchors your image to an object in the real world. This lets you move your canvas or phone, and the drawing and projected image will stay aligned.
Classic mode is like a normal art projector, where if you move your phone or canvas, the drawing will no longer be aligned.
AR mode is especially useful for drawing or painting on an easel. However, in most cases, Classic mode will achieve the same result.

Da Vinci Eye: AR Art Projector Reviews (336)
This is the first app I’ve ever actually paid for! I wish I knew about it years ago. I saw it advertised on YouTube but I didn’t catch the name of it and had to hunt it down in the App Store. It’s fantastic. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
Great app if your phone handles AR. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and the app is telling me that my device isn’t powerful enough to run this app in AR mode. I read description on App Store and it said this is compatible with my phone which it isn’t 100% Gutted because this app looks great otherwise.
Tried for ages to get this to work. The concept is simple and I was excited to buy it but it’s not very intuitive and I don’t want to spend lots of time watching videos to see how to get the best out of it. I went back to blocking in the end. Not impressed.
The image always disappear and reappear even when the anchor is visible.
This app is of no use to me as I thought I would be able to bring in my own photos. I would like a refund.
The app is over all okay, and there aren’t too many ads. The problem is that the lessons are only pictures within the app and that during the step by step, the drawing is basically shaded. The only mode I actually like is classic.
I like the app, but some things are really annoying. It’s hard to get the drawing where you want it on the paper unless you have a tall enough glass.
The real real dude
This app has allowed me to create more than ever before. Great for water coloring.
Best app on my phone!! Works perfectly for laying out an outline or a finished detailed portrait. For all those not wanting to pay for this app or thinking tracing paper will suffice you've lots your minds; this app goes way beyond that, not to mention you can not zoom in to fine details with tracing paper. Sometimes you just want to get straight into a drawing and not spend hours on perspective and measuring proportions. Great video tutorials as well, helpful tonal tools to use even when your drawing freehand.
When I get to the middle of the picture the camera starts to focus on my hand then constantly zooms in and out, this messes up my guide lines and I can’t focus, I have to extend the pencil from my hand and my lines just become reckless. Please fix this issue. If you cannot I understand. But I would like I tip 🙌🙂
Little tricky to use at the beginning but in 20 minutes you know how to use it.So I think it’s worth buying this app
Love the app helped me with some Christmas artwork I wanted to give to my grandparents you’ve done a great job
This app is honestly the best thing to happen to my drawing skills. I can now draw faces and people perfectly and all my friends are super impressed. Thank you!
