Before the goats arrive to the farm we need to be sure our pastures are safe for them... and to do so we try out a new app called PlantSnap to identify the weeds.

Any luck finding a better app? IM looking for edible plant apps that can help me learn which one's are edible.
I’ve used the app, not very accurate unfortunately
I bought this last year hoping it would help me with my weeding in the garden. I used it on one plant & it told me it was mint. Well, I don’t know what the plant was but I know what mint looks like & it was not that. But I didn’t expect a 100% success rate, & shrugged it off. I returned to the app today for an ID and now it is asking for me to log in. I don’t want to give my personal details to an app. My details are not essential for this app to function. I paid money for this app & now, after one incorrect ID, it seems I cannot use it. What a disappointment. The idea of the app was a good one, but I’m not happy with my personal data being harvested for no good reason.
Used to be good but now is misidentify everything. Pole roll back
Me: this isnt marijuana!!!
Title says it all.
This app has never worked properly or provided legitimate insights into many of the plants I have in my home and garden and now I have to LOGIN or CREATE A LOGIN just to use an app that I paid money for. Hey plant snap people, how to I get my money back for this useless piece of trash?
Why the hell should I have to login to use this app?! Maybe to access a secret social network of plants? Makes no sense.
Commercial of flora looks like a p#ssy
With one of the recent updates this $3.99 paid app now requires I login with a social media platform such as facebook. I do not use social media or any of the 3 logins required to use this app. When I paid for plantsnap this was not a requirement. The app is a good concept, but very inaccurate at identifying species. I’m a plant physiology major (plant pathology) and I had high hopes for this app, but it let me down. If you do not have a login for the three option they offer or do not like to give your social media accounts access to this app do not purchase it. I have deleted this app and will not endorse it.
I cannot continue to pay monthly for this app. Please help me to remove it.
I have taken around 25 photos of the plants in my area. This app can not identify a single one. Using IPhone 8+
As many have pointed out, this AI is still in trial, using submissions followed by email correspondence to add new species to their reference database. Likely this works great in america and may be the basis for the absurd claims of millions of users achieving 96% success. I have given the App many many attempts over many months, following exact directions and watching the YouTube videos. As I have been deeply involved in the design, bug fixing and user interface issues of a biology field App I am acutely aware of how easy it is for people to misunderstand how to use an App but that’s not the problem here; PlantSnap simply doesn’t have the database for identifying enough species with all the regional variations to be useful broadly and absolutely not worth paying money for to use on Australian native species. Indeed not even the most ubiquitous garden ornamentals from asia and south america commonly found in Australian gardens can be resolved. I have to say the AI also appears partly to blame as it’s suggestions have included species with completely different veination in the leaves than the photo which suggests that not even basic gross plant anatomy is yet to be learnt by the AI software. All up, a useless App for Australia and I suspect for everyone outside of continental US with an annoying insistence that people can’t use the camera on their mobile device correctly as an excuse for the truth of an ambitious project still with a long way to grow.
The app is exceptionally well designed, but is consistently getting plants wrong. It needs more data to support it.
We live in a country area where internet wi-fi or mobile phone signals are not readily available outdoors or around the property and it seems like the PlantSnap application may now be reliant on such services in order to work. An older version worked okay; identifying the snap when connected to wifi. It’s frustrating because lots of time lost. As well, the augmented reality screen shows nothing but a black background and its bubble outlines. So if PlantSnap functionality is reliant on an internet connection when taking the snaps that’s a problem. Since the last update it hasn’t worked and the entire app jus freezes. When I am in a WiFi accessible zone - like in the house it eventually loads but I don’t have much growing inside 🤔. Okay, so I have just turned off the location access in iPad settings specifically for PlantSnap and I will see if I have any better luck. If I do I will write another review. BTW - I don’t usually take time for reviews unless I am amazed or totally disappointed 😞. Possibly the application could have a few settings added to cater for bad internet connection services.

Chuck Norris has won the Publisher Clearing House 1 million a year for live every year for the last ten years. But he has never entered their contest.
This app could not identify my basil plant. I tried it 3 times to give it a chance. It will recognise some things but I won’t be trusting it while I’m hiking. Think I’ll just photograph a plant or a tree and try to I.D the old fashioned way.
Finds some plants and not others.
Does help if you move to a new country!
I purchased PlantSnap and of maybe 15 or 20 known species it got one (ivy) correct. In even misidentified popular flowers.
Güzel uygulama. Düzenini kullanmak gerçekten çok kolay. Benim gibi yeni başlayanlar için gerçekten yararlı. Arkadaşlarıma göstermek için sabırsızlanıyorum.
Ağaç ve çiçek adlandırmada oldukça doğru. Bahçemi dekore ederken onunla eğleniyorum.
Bu uygulamanın benim eski cep telefonumdan çekilmiş böylesi bir opak fotoğrafta eğrelti otumu tanımlayabildiğini şaşırttı. Bahçemdeki diğer eğreltiotu kaplarıyla denedim ve PlantSnap neredeyse hepsini yaptı. Üzerinde çalışmaya devam et - daha iyi oluyorsun!
