Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard Reviews
Dax is so sweet, genuine, fun and funny. I absolutely love the podcast. He and Monica’s banter is so sweet and funny.
It seems as though I am a part of the popular opinion about Monica. This is not a woman thing.. but her laugh is so so so difficult to listen to. It honestly ruins the conversations and I want to turn it off. It sounds so forced and so fake. I don’t know much about their background together, as I’m only a new listener.. but their dynamic is strange. She constantly puts him down and acts like they’re in a relationship. If the roles were reversed and he was constantly making fun of her and putting her down, the podcast world would be in an uproar. I don’t see what she is contributing to the conversations and her know it all attitude is the worst. I don’t know much about her as a person but I feel like she doesn’t really belong on this show. Dax is great and he seems very knowledgeable about each guest that is on.
Dax, host of the Armchair Expert podcast, highlights all aspects of humans, comedy and more in this can’t miss podcast! The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!
Great show to listen to when talking to guests but Dax just likes to bring up that he is a ex alcoholic / avid drug user every show and talk about what drugs he did and how much he enjoyed it but is sober now
Simply one of the best concepts for self improvement and mindset. As I listen to this almost religiously, the more my appreciation grows and viewpoint has changed from one of... “Who cares about celebrity’s challenges” to realize this is a brilliant way to utilize the familiarity of celebrity in an increasingly less truly personally connected world. Sadly, people know more about celebrities than their neighbors and even family. This podcast does a brilliant job of personalizing the guests to the point where you almost forget you are listening to celebrities, and truly using their familiarity to educate on very important issues. A simple, yet so effective way to enlighten the average person on current cultural issues, addiction, abuse, mental health, feminism, masculinity, parenthood, challenging political and religious beliefs, open mindedness. Access to some very complex issues and incredibly intellectual guests through Experts on Expert reach an audience who may have never explored such culture, myself included. I have learned and applied more in my life in 2 years of listening to this podcast, and the other shows and writings it has introduced, than any other cultural force. For that, I thank you. Keep up the great work!
Dear Dax, listening to you identify Kristen as a genius today gave me hope for humanity. It was so incredibly loving and just all over amazing to hear. I also think she is a genius. Thank you to you and Monica for such a fabulous show.
I feel like I can relate to you and learn from your guests. And I think Monica brings something nice to the mix. I actually wish she would chime in more. And I think she has a lovely laugh. Don’t listen to the haters. I will say that Dax does interrupt the guests a lot which I don’t care for simply because I know that I hate being interrupted. But then I remind myself that if they are bothered by the interruptions then they can ask you to stop cutting them off. I am always entertained and will continue to listen.
I love this podcast. Truly. It's helped me become a better human in many ways. But my favorite thing about it is how well it reaches to so many people. I've turned people into listeners who are legit fans now. You guys have invited so much shared connection all around. Dax, thank you.
Love the podcast, hit up the live show in Minneapolis and loved it! Wanted to say - I like that Monica is more of a co-host lately instead of just the fact checker, great to hear more from her!! Keep it up!
Armchair Expert is always compelling no matter the guest. I have laughed and cried. Even when I don’t know the guest I always get sucked in and have enjoyed every one. Dax and Monica have a great relationship and it shows - always always funny and great perspectives.. they have opened my eyes on many topics and points of view!
Your podcasts have been a constant source of information that I would not normally investigate. I love you guys and how you treat each other with the utmost respect. Hey by the way I hope this goes on as long as you are having fun. Super fan Terry
I feel like I know you guys. Thank you for your unflinching honesty and openness. You truly model healthy self-worth: willingness to admit and own your challenges while taking responsibility for your life. Awesome duo!!
Love your podcast Dax! You’re a funny dude, clearly no idiot!! Keep it up.
I enjoy this podcast very much. Sometimes when Dax interviews actors they like to “shake each others chains” so to speak [Aussie term for “you are great” “No, you are” “No, you are” etc…. But all in all I like listening to him talk to people. I like that I learn from him and his guests!
He just called Kristen Bell a genius for voicing an animated Disney character!!!! I think the years of drug addiction has finally caught up to his brain. Never listening again. Give me strength please.
Chuck Norris was asked if he would date Rosie O'Donnell? Chuck said "I'd rather shove a lit match up my pee-hole".
Honestly I feel like I’m there in the room. I’m so invested in the archairy fan club I want to write Dax and Monica a letter after every episode. Laugh out loud, honest, passionate

Dax has an uncanny ability to get his guests to discuss raw personal issues, no small feat given they are celebrities used to publicists controlling how they present themselves. I particularly appreciate Dax’s ability to use his own stories which enable the guest to open up in response. While the guests’ stories are often interesting and inspiring, it is Dax’s own background (raised by a single mother with several partners) that keeps me coming back to the podcast. I come from a similar upbringing and his ability to articulate what he went through and how cognisant he is of its impact on him today is incredibly inspiring. Monica is a great foil who masters the difficult art of finding the right time to jump in with pertinent questions for the guests. Keep up the amazing work, you guys keep me going when it’s all a bit tough.
Dax and Monica are a great team and I love listening to the way they communicate together and with their guests. I love hearing the story of people’s lives and how they ended up where they are each week. Every episode makes me smile and laugh.
I’ve only heard the first episode, but being a massive fan of Kristen and Dax I already knew it was going to be great. And it was, it was honest, funny and I genuinely felt like was in the room just listening to them talk. I see (I hear) a lot of Kristen in me and dax in partners I have had and after listening to this and hearing them use techniques they have learnt or self taught to continually work on their relationship I was just so impressed and i have learnt something just from this one podcast. Anyway could not put it down. Loved every minute. You can hear that Dax is really passionate about this and I think that’s so great and it’s a great place to start a great show... and look at it now... a year old and some hella great guests. Keep it up Dax, his team (and Kristen for the support- you guys work at it, it shows and I hope it inspires others to put in the work for love). Quick query, who helps produce this show? And all the names of the people backstage? Big thank you to them!

I don’t normally write reviews, however I have to say this is the best podcast in the world! The last episode with Jonathan Safran Foer the way you say “Jonathan” Dax made me tingle in places that shouldn’t be tingling!! Keep up the amazing work you lot!! Jonathan GB
I gave my life to become the person I am right now. Was it worth it?
