I don’t understand why in episode one there is a story about a porn star? The connection between this story and the main story is not clear. Maybe it’s because I’m listening at work and got distracted and missed something? I thought it was an advertisement for a different podcast at first because it is so different but I think it may be part of the podcast?
They had a very compelling story to tell. Unfortunately, they chose to tell it in a non-sequential manner, and in parallel, relating stories from different perspectives. This technique is not so much confusing as it is repetitive. Along with the recaps and previews, the listener is subjected to hearing the same incidents multiple times, with only minor variation. It clearly was a stylistic choice, but just fails to deliver. Also, one narrator would have sufficed. The female narrator was preferable.
Hard to keep up with all the players in each episode. To much going back and forth with all the people included.
Well researched, and I liked the two stories coming together. but a bit dragged out and the background music was incessant and unnecessary
Best true crime podcast that I've heard.
Well done. Quite enjoyed this sordid tale.
I started listening to Sword and Scale... once I was all caught up I started looking at other Wondery podcasts to listen to. The production on these podcast are amazing! The Wonderland Murders was suuuuuccchhh a goooood one! If you google it you can find the crime scene video! Yiiikes!!!
I love wondery podcasts but this is the hardest one to follow as there are so many ads. Am I stupid and not following? Does the porn story have anything to do with this podcast about the murders? It is extremely distracting. Literally I can’t. I cannot follow. I hear more of this story then the murders?! I’m confused :(
I love Wondery podcasts- Dr. Death and Dirty John are both amazing and engrossing. So I was surprised to find myself getting irritated and increasingly annoyed at Wonderland- I realized it was the music. Something about the soundtrack is so so annoying- like someone constantly, repeatedly plucking a nerve- that I couldn’t make it through the podcast. I hope you guys never use this kind of music for future podcasts because it literally makes me want to kill myself.
This is more about Bobs dream of being a porn star
This hasn’t held my interest like other Wonderland podcasts. The narration is a little bit annoying and the story has been predictable. I haven’t finished the podcast and don’t plan to.
This is a fantastic podcast. The insight is amazing.
Chuck Norris can listen to music without speakers.
Seemed good at first, and I thought I’d just missed something when the first couple of seemingly completely off-topic stories played. But as it went on I figured they were ads? Legitimately every five minutes and each over 2 minutes long - makes listening to the actual podcast pointless in my opinion. Don’t get why they thought it was anything but disruptive and stupid to have so many weird ads. GB
A great story, well told and well produced. When I see that a podcast has been made by Wondery then I know I’m going to enjoy it. For me, Wondery is pretty much the gold standard for podcasts. GB
Couldn’t get through the first episode, as the constant crime story-filled adverts made me completely lose my place. GB
Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.
