Valley girl talk has got to stop, like it’s totally annoying, right? Unsubscribe bc of the host.
Not a milennial
Completely indulgent, overwrought ...and intolerable
The stories are great, but the hosts are kind of annoying. I wish that it was set up more like This Is Actually Happening, in that you don’t hear the hosts, just the person telling their story.
I love the idea behind this podcast. It’s so important to let survivors tell their stories and showcase their triumph over suffering, in whatever form it takes. The guests on the show are empowering and inspiring people, even if I may disagree with some of them on the basis of ideology. Unfortunately, I felt that I had to unsubscribe from this show because of the hosts. It seems to me that they use the stories of their guests to pay homage to the vacuous religion of intersectional feminism nearly every episode. They eschew nuance and like to straw-man particular issues. I have enjoyed hearing from all the guests, and would rather hear more from them than listen to the hosts go on a tiresome and preachy tangent after the interviews.
So much glee for such dark topics. I wonder how the guests feel after listening to the finished episodes.
As a psychologist I love the resources and solid info the hosts include— it’s not just violence porn. Stories are powerful and relatable. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely amazing podcasts! I think it’s so important to shed light on these topics, and not only that but the solutions and ways to prevent more people from going through what these people went through. A lot of podcasts seem to have dull hosts. But these two are amazing, let the people tell their story, and do their research! Keep it up ladies! 💜
No pun intended up there. Well, maybe a little. But anyway, Hi, my name is Nikki, and I am a Victim Advocate at our local sexual and domestic violence center. I came across this podcast through other shows in the Wondery world who were plugging it in their feed. I hadn’t even made it entirely through the first episode before I began plugging it through our center’s social media. Whether it’s a victim of recent domestic or sexual violence, or a survivor still grappling with their trauma, this pod is phenomenal for victims and survivors in not only sharing other stories and validating that they’re not alone, but hearing the triumph and just pure survival is so very important.
Loving this podcast and the survivors telling their amazing stories. I just wish the hosts would talk a little less..... Sorry girls!!
A great new Podcast. Love it. I already feel like I have learnt things that could really help me if I ever was in trouble. Thanks girls. A fan from Australia. Tara 👍
Nice to have something positive to break up all the true crime !!

This is not a review, I just wanted to say I’m so happy I found this podcast. You are helping me survive. Thank you.
