Happy Face Reviews
Terrible overbearing music over the conversations. No info given about actual crimes committed, leaving one lost for most of the story. And as usual the killer is portrayed as some suave mastermind instead of a straight up loser that never developed social skills to deal with his emotions.
The story is incredibly interesting. And it’s already been said, and can’t be said enough: the music is atrocious and doesn’t even fit the mood of the story. Thankfully, you can forward through it.
The podcast is good but the music choices are AWFUL. There are a lot of commercials too which is a mood killer. I fast forward through them and when the music comes on because it’s painful to listen to.
Music is annoying. First episode ends with the father killing a cat which made me sad.
To me this was about Melissa figuring out how she felt as a daughter and then sharing that journey with us. The music totally fit, and would podcast would not have been the same without it. Thank you to all involved for delving deep and sharing the heartbreaking reality of being related to a serial killer.
Listening to this show I feel completely locked in to the storyline as they weave you through the personalities and relationships.
Listened to the entire series in 24 hrs, it is so good and raw. Very upsetting, but highly interesting to listen and understand from the kids point of view.
So good. Love the perspective and Melissa is amazing. This isn’t a podcast you can listen to while working or doing other things. I usually can only listen to it while I’m driving because of all the little details and how it moves around so much. 4 stars because of the music.. not well scored. While the music is pretty it just doesn’t fit and becomes distracting. Overall though I love this and hope they come out with more!❤️
Very well done podcast, and I’m thoroughly enjoying everything about it.
What a unique take on true crime to tell this story from the perspective of the daughter of a serial killer! It’s so honest and raw and confronting. Is beautifully done.
Every episode a master piece.
Should be a great story but super annoying music thought out, too many ads and seems very unsympathetic to the victims of the story.
Chuck Norris decided to try bull riding. He drew a nasty bull named Doomsday. When Doomsday heard Chuck was going to ride him, he hid in his trailer and fainted.
Chilling, terrifying and interesting. Great podcast
This isn’t bad - but just doesn’t compare with the style and delivery of podcasts such as Up and Vanished. I totally get they’re quite different in terms of purpose - but the delivery is just quite poor so far. Will keep listening, but really hope this improves as the podcast does have huge potential!
The worst podcast i have come across. Very poorly produced. The podcast is fragmented and confusing. Not mo mention filled with adverts. And what is with the fake emotion and forced tears. Would not recommend at all. A few hours of my life i would never get back. The only positive about it is that its free. GB
True crime, psychology and nature versus nurture come together brilliantly in this podcast, making for a fascinating, moving and even sometimes funny listening experience. Credit to both women for having the courage to tell such a personal and easily misunderstood story. Melissa - you are not your father. GB
I’m finding this podcast fascinating but the relentless moaning woman music is driving me crazy. Shame. It seems so unnecessary. GB
Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.
