I absolutely am missing this show!
Too much filler material. Entirely too cheesy and dramatic. Personally the material was gross and never needed to be written. Dismissing that, even if the subject matter was interesting, the delivery is ridiculous. So...many....dramatic...pauses.
This podcast was very clear that this would be very heavy material and graphic. While I went in doubtful they definitely delivered. I love the episodes themselves, and I really liked the original couple of after shows where they discussed the facts about the story and how they fleshed them out but now it feels more like a kind of douchey time to vent about SJWs. I wish it was much more focused on the story itself still but it doesn’t take away my enjoyment of how well they construct a story around minimal facts.
There was a lot of hype to this show and it just didn’t live up to it.
Boring podcast. The writing seems forced. The thick Canadian accent of one of the narrators was quite unbearable. These guys hyped this up to be the darkest more extreme podcast..it’s far from that.
Tell the damn story without using so many poetic devices. You guys aren't good enough writers to employ them properly.
I am saddened by the loss of such great podcasts and terrified by the horrible acts of mob justice censorship. Keep fighting!
Truly one of the most disturbing audio experiences I’ve personally encountered so far. It makes you reassess frequently what you’re listening to and why. I think that is fascinating in and of itself - and an accomplishment, really. I laugh out loud just about every time at my favorite ad with “Kare-bear.” Hilariously over the top creepy. I don’t even mind hearing it over and over. Yes, this is probably a matter of sense of humor, and I sure it’s not for everyone. That being said, I’ve listened to the entire season, along with the aftershows. And here is where I’ve been most disturbed. Guys, I’m not begrudging your creative choices. Do your thing! There will be negative reviews. This is some different stuff. But the defensiveness and dismissive attitude - even insulting people who don’t get it - it’s not a good look. You promised to find the line and cross it, creatively speaking. And you’re doing that. Why are you acting all butthurt and surprised that some people find it too disturbing? That some people don’t love it? Look at it this way: you’ve succeeded! People are super creeped out! I think I understand what you’re trying to do here and even I wonder sometimes what kind of sick person would dive so deep into this and create this experience. But I think that’s the the (sick, twisted) heart of it. You lean all the way in to the depravity. I get it. And I was ready to keep listening (uncomfortably, as intended) next season, but after your last aftershow, I’m super put off by the attitudes. Not that you care, you’ve made that clear. But if you’ve put someone like me off with that, I can’t be the only one. I’m actually writing a review. I never do that. Please stop letting the reviews get in your collective heads (she wrote, ironically).
This podcast is brutal. They really wasted their time with this. Do not listen
Been with dark topic since it began so had to check this out. Rly big disappointment since both S&S and Dark Topic hyped it up so much. Stories push social boundaries but the overly descriptive writing and lack of coherent plot just turned me off (only bright spots are the trademark Luna cynicism but those are few and far between). Resemble more like a wannabe emo wattpad story than true crime fiction. Might like it better if it’s just a Dark Topic bonus. What a shame.
I was really excited about this coming out, but I’m so disappointed! It’s very slow paced story telling and sometimes hard to follow. I have unsubscribed... sadly.
Pretty full-on cases but excellent effects and production. These guys are BORN story tellers. Chilling as it is, they bring into the psyche of the most troubled minds of this century.
Mike Boudet is a great narrator but the writing for these stories feels juvenile.
Thanks so much for putting on a podcast that doesn’t sugarcoat the actual crimes no offence, sword and scale is mild compare to this and I love sword and scale but this one It is primo So much appreciated Heather from Australia
Chuck Norris simply walks into Mordor
Mike Boudets brainchild couldn’t be more dramatic
It really is something different. Both Mike & Jack's voices alongside the audio effects are amazing & the quality of writing & production really shows. This will be a great addition to my podcast playlist!
Surreal & creepy. I liked the perspective nicely done!
I really wanted to love this as I enjoy the hosts and their other podcasts, but this just doesn’t work for me. It seems most of it is supposition, the interjections of role play are distracting and the whole thing just seems a little off. I’ll continue to enjoy Sword and Scale and Dark Topic, but not sure I’ll continue with this.
A lot worse than I expected it to be. Just over explained and described scenes, not true crime. Mostly made up.
I don’t have enough thumbs to point down. Mike Boudets ego is of epic proportions.
Migel myers 😂
Very very interesting, Andes part 3 plzzz GB
Crazy apple xx
Really enjoy the style of storytelling of real life crimes. You can tell how much effort and research gone into making these, when comparing to the news articles relating to the people involved. It’s very creative, descriptive and verbally graphic, which makes it so much more fun to listen to than a standard crime podcast. GB
...BUT Jack Luna gets 5 stars. I think the 5 star reviews here are written by 12 year olds or people who haven’t discovered the ‘real’ 5 star podcasts that are out there. Over hyped and cringeworthy GB
Never ignore a gut feeling, but never believe that it's enough.
