Against the Rules with Michael Lewis Reviews
The Great Glass Alavator
Really loved this show. Thought provoking and timely.
Please make season two!!!!
The first season was great. I hope he makes another one.
I listened to the entire first season. He runs a podcast the way he writes his books. Informal. Engaging. With a plot that can be followed. A storyline that includes human values. I even like his voice. Not like he is trying to sell something.
I’m sad to finish this season (will there be more?). The stories Michael Lewis told felt very important. This podcasts takes big systems and investigates them in a very personal way; literally finding people involved and talking to them. As an interviewer, Michael always comes across like he made friends with his subjects. Learning a psychological and sociogical take on bureaucracy, predatory finance, corporate greed, suspicious emotional masses, twitter democracy.... felt hyper relevant.
Anything with Malcolm Gladwell involved is always a delight. Interesting and insightful, and makes you see the world through yet another lens that you never thought to look through. Well done!
The first season of this episode is both fun to listen to and profound. Lewis has put his finger on a disturbing trend in society that was hard to put together before this show. It will make you laugh and smile, and then will stay with you for quite a while.
This podcast just misses mark. It has great info and exposes a lot of issues with the fairness of our lives. It misses the mark, however, when the host sometimes holds such strong reverence in his point of view he is unwilling to consider alternate views to the point of arrogance. It happens rarely enough that it still makes for a great show.
One of the best aspects of the podcast is when the characters from Michael Lewis' books (e.g. Ronin and Mike from Flash Boys) are interviewed on the show. I also like the overall theme about compromised referees. Now that I think about it, Michael has been our referee-of-referees for a long time. Keep up the good work!
Having read a few of Michael’s books, I couldn’t resist giving the podcast a try. It’s become a new favourite of mine - always thought-provoking and amusing. I can’t wait for next season! And this one, with my other favourite podcaster Malcolm Gladwell was the icing on the cake for the series!

This font is unacceptable for the logo of such a good podcast. Un-accept-a-bull GB
Absolutely brilliant. Enlightening, shocking and really beautifully crafted. GB
Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.
