OkOn the whole, it’s a decent podcast but I have heard one of the hosts say (worryingly, the former prosecutor), on more than one occasion, that she likes cases with circumstantial evidence which, in a country notorious for wrongful convictions - more than anywhere else in the world, is a serious concern to me..Score: 3/5

Very goodNot sure the title matches the content that well, I was expecting the cases to be picked apart? but just listened to the first two episodes- they are really good. Great to have two opinions and professional side notes. And also the side of the story from those directly in the investigations. Very well told and put together. Another great podcast from AudiochuckAs a long time listener to Crime Junkie, I was excited to get into this new podcast, and I was not disappointed. The crimes discussed are intriguing with very interesting first hand interviews with detectives and other people involved in the crime/ investigation. The stories all had surprising twists which I enjoyed. I have only given the podcast 4 stars rather than the full 5 as I felt the rapport between the two hosts felt a little forced at times, with some slightly awkward exchanges. I’m sure this is probably just as they get to know each other more, and I have high hopes for the rest of the series..Score: 4/5

Good but a serious issue...The former police office on this podcast is an apologist for poor police behaviour and police work. Anyone that is a true crime fan knows how often police ignore missing people until it’s too late. It’s just so glaring. He really needs to do better..Score: 3/5

Smart analysisI find this podcast to be very smart and focused on the facts of cases. The hosts certainly have their opinions but that’s not what the bulk of the shows are about. Instead we get clear explanations and analysis. They are very calm speakers which lends the show a certain sophistication that plays well. "Literally"For an intelligent and accomplished person, Anna-Siga uses the word "lterally" incorrecly. And often! Sometimes twice in the same sentence and many times over any episode. Please have her look up the meaning of a word if she insosts on throwing it around so much. It 'literally' makes my blood boil and 'literally' blows my mind that such dumbness is not not edited out. Not all good.This is the only audiochuck show that I don’t love. The information and production are fantastic but some of the things the hosts say make me cringe. I’ve heard Anna Sigga make comments about a person refusing to take a polygraph test suggesting that they are guilty, which we all know from Crime Junkie just isn’t true. I’m listening to today’s episode On the Back Porch and it’s just kind of disturbing the comments they have on charging someone with this crime when they don’t really have any evidence as to who actually committed it. The attitude of sometimes you just aren’t going to get any more than what they call “he said/he said” circumstantial evidence, but you still should charge one of them for it, and the assertion that the problem is NOT the lack of evidence but instead not having a DA willing to charge someone without enough evidence is very telling of why so many wrongfully convicted people are in prison in the United States. It seems like these two, who really are a microcosm of the American justice system, are far more interested i whether or not they can get a jury to convict than whether or not the person actually did the crime..Score: 3/5

Unapologetically Conservative TakesThese guys try to pass off some of their opinions as reasonable and even-handed, but they’re really pretty conservative. In one of the latest episodes, At The Mall, they make a blatant pitch to lessen the amount of parole reviews defendants get. They claim that it’s unfair to victim’s families, and that “defendant’s already have enough procedures in place”. What they fail to mention is that in the criminal justice system defendants have constitutional rights which entitle them to their protections and procedures. Victims families do not. They are NOT parties to the cases, the system is not supposed to focus on them..Score: 2/5

This is a 5-Star program.These two both have professional experience working with the Justice system, giving a tremendous amount of insight into why things work the way they do. They're well-researched, often interviewing key players from each crime. They also use original recordings where possible so you can "get a feel for things" as they happened... One thing I think they handle particularly well, is the telling of horrific moments while showing respect to victims, survivors and law enforcement. MehhhhBe a lot better if the crooked prosecutor on the show wasn’t so stupid.Once listened to her in the “Death Pact” episode say “literally” 5 times in less than 5 mins—a tremendous amount even for 2021 standards, where it’s literally used for like literally everything. Now the latest episode, “Alibi”, she not only used it twice in one sentence…not only used it to dramatically state that a security camera covered the front of a building…BUT SHE MIGHT BE THE FIRST IDIOT TO USE LITERALLY THREE TIMES IN A SINGLE SENTENCE! She sounds like a 14 year old valley girl moron. A podcast that just keeps getting worse…worst new podcast!.Score: 3/5

Too many adsI totally understand that you need to make money, but there are like 5+ ad breaks for a 40 minute podcast. It’s way too much, and super frustrating because they try to make every part before the ad break a cliffhanger. The format could use improvement. A lot of repetition as well in what they say every single episode. Good stories, I just think this format may get old if you’re listening to it every week..Score: 3/5

They tell the stories of the victims and give them the light, instead of the murderers. It’s like listening to a book on tape.
