Great podcastI'm only a few episodes in and this guy is legit. Great guy, honest comedy, honest talk. There's a lot of podcasts that have their thing, this is just honest. Getting a new episode notification for this always makes my day!I love this podcast. Interesting, thought-provoking and funny. It’s a great introduction to a wide range of philosophies and ideas presented in an accessible and relatable way. It’s funny but always gives serious thought and discussion to the ideas and quotes. Danny is a very personable, funny and engaging host and interviewer and is not afraid to ask difficult questions, including regarding his own faith and beliefs. When he introduces the philosopher Danny is usually finding out about them for the first time himself so there’s no need to have any prior knowledge of the philosophy and, living in the UK I haven’t even heard of many of his guests but they are always interesting and matched with well-chosen philosophers. Might help if the host even bothered to Google the philosopherI just listened to the podcast dealing with Karl Popper. Oh dear, what a wasted opportunity. I started wondering when the host wondered how to pronounce "Popper." This was followed by reading the first two sentences of the Karl Popper wikipedia entry. This interview was truly a wasted opportunity, because the person being interviewed talked quite a bit about her Jewish faith. Popper's Jewish heritage and problematic attitudes toward Jews would have been an interesting topic to raise. Or Popper's religious skepticism relative to this person's faith life as a scientist. As it is, neither party had even heard of him, they read three sentence-long quotes from him and wondered what could be meant. It provided some moments of unintended humor, though. One example was when they both concluded that Popper must have been a very humble person. Popper did suffer from many maladies toward the end, but I think anyone would agree, death due to excessive humility wasn't a cause of mortality for him. Or, if you wanted to go for humor, I believe the interviewee is an actress on The Big Bang.
