At the end of episode 1 we might be wondering what in the world we have ended up watching. But stick with the whole series all will be revealed and this program shows just how good and flexible an Actor the main Character Cumberbatch is. An absolute stunning performance.

CB puts everything into it as ever, but I gave up after 2 episodes - had no empathy for the characters or interest.
One of the best 2 minutes in the history of cinema

If you've got serious substance abuse in your past (or your present), this show may be a tad hard to handle. It was for me. But I wouldn't miss a second of it.
Patrick Melrose is beautifully written and acted. The series is poignant story of a man tortured by his relationship to his parents. It's brilliant:)
Going to watch it soon though looks interesting
