OPRAH WINFREY: THE MAP  How many times have you witnessed someone get close to achieving a goal, only to see it suddenly fall apart? Or they reach the top of the mountain but can’t seem to hold on. Maybe you too have struggled with near-misses and dreams that didn’t quite materialize. Self-sabotage can be a devastating cycle. Oprah believes the variable between winning the race and faltering at the finish line lies with one of the guiding forces in her life: Intention. She says, “Those who sense your truth and your authenticity will rise up to support you. But most importantly you must believe with your whole heart that you are capable of achieving your goal. So first ask yourself Why? What is the real intention? Then ask: How will I execute the action?” In this podcast, Oprah sits down with such legendary spiritual teachers and writers as  Gary Zukav, Gabrielle Bernstein, Brené Brown, Stephen Colbert, David Brooks, President Joe Biden (VP at the time) Marianne Williamson, Daniel Pink, Carole Bayer Sager, Cheryl Strayed, Reverend Michael Beckwith, Meagan Good, Devon Franklin, Janet Mock and Goldie Hawn. They share their own personal trajectories and the inner map they followed which led them to the ultimate fulfillment of their dreams. Interviews with these talented writers, speakers and thought leaders are excerpted from Oprah’s Emmy Award-winning show Super Soul Sunday. You can also find this compilation and other insightful conversations, in Oprah’s best-selling book The Path Made Clear.

ThanksDear Oprah, I wanted to thank you personally, for all the many hours, and much dedication to your most insightful and interesting podcasts, that present so many different topics and situations in life, you are touching so many people, who need uplifting and reminders that we are all the same humans, who are simply looking for kindness and love, who seek to grow spiritually and emotionally, I’ve been listening to your podcasts few years now, and it’s always inspirational, I wanted to ask you as a parent, to consider talking about a very sensitive and controversial topic, it’s globally known as parental alienation, people like Tom Cruz and Alec Baldwin are know to suffer from that, it’s when a child gets caught in separation or divorce, and he is turning his or her back on one parent, whilst aligning with the other, those children are under extreme emotional pressure to do so, and most of the cases do not justify this behavior, it’s a progressive behavior which the child is showing symptoms that usually lead to the breakdown of the relationship and they leave one parent, most of those children are very young, the family courts do not act quickly enough and the parent does not see that child for many years to come, it’s a tragic and traumatic issue that can have fatal impacts on both the parent and the children who are taught to hate the other parent, it’s used to be more known by mothers who automatically gain custody, but the system is so twisted and corrupted that now there’s so many mothers who do not see their children for years, it’s horrible and unacceptable, I know many organizations who are trying to make a change, but it’s very slow, meantime, there’s a whole generation of children out there, expect Mexico and Brazil who don’t allow parental alienation, this new generation of estranged kids who don’t have any relationship with one parent, they pass it on to their children and they all suffer the consequences, but courts do not care unless you get lucky , or even when you pay so many thousands and mortgage your house, you need to fight years, if you heard about Amy Baker she talk broadly about it, it’s like a disease, I was wondering if you can sometime talk about it in your podcasts or tv shows, to bring more awareness for it, as it’s a toxic parents who want to ruin the other parent, for many reasons, it’s unfair , injustice and the child loses not just the parent but the whole supportive other family, as they reject calls, letters, presents and any contact. From personal experience as an average schmo, I spent a fortune in my early years on spiritual/self help books promoted by Oprah and her many invited spiritual guests throughout the years and can honestly say none was helpful in securing any kind of better way of coping, understanding or living a more authentic life for whatever that means. Despite what Oprah attests, that these spiritual things she promotes will not allow anyone to be her in the sense she’s acquired much worldly fame and monetary success, she seems to mean well but remains oblivious to the way life really is for the majority of people, a vast population of folks getting through it each day in mostly dead end job servitude who struggle to meet a good credit rating and are in a work force that no longer offers a retirement plan unless its unionized work or through an iffy 401k that is not protected from economic ups and downs as well as the generosity or lack of from various kinds of businesses who can choose to match employee payments into such a dubious retirement program. If we’re honest with ourselves we know by now that spirituality gurus talk us into believing we can achieve anything, be whatever we dream to be, do great things in life—if you buy their book and follow their simple steps given to live a meaningful life. Their spiel sounds plausible, we’re hyped up and unknowingly suckered in a far too open-minded financial purchase of guru inspired instructions we truly think will make life more meaningful. This determination and belief lasts for as long as it takes to read their book and follow its purported guidance for success until real life, as is inevitable, knocks on our consciousness and awakens us back to reality because bills need paying, things and people in our lives inevitably break down (including ourselves) need care and maintenance in which books on spirituality fail and are soon perceived as useless to-dos that do not—will never—fit into every day living in the long haul. Spirituality-type explanations and beliefs appeal to the nuvo riche—newly rich people who started from humble or perhaps very poor financial backgrounds who are trying to make sense of great amounts of monetary fortune which has changed their lives: this is the loop Oprah has remained stuck in for way too long..Score: 1/5

Oprah talks to Harvard-trained sociologist, world-renowned coach and New York Times bestselling author Martha Beck about her latest book "The Way of Integrity: Finding the Path To Your True Self." They discuss how living in alignment with our inner truth is the key to a purposeful and joyful life. Beck shares how she found integrity in her own life and why that involved committing to not lying for one year.

Your life is always speaking to you in whispers, guiding you to your next right step. And in many situations, the whisper is also the first warning. It’s a quiet nudge from deep within saying, Hmmm, something feels off. A small voice that tells you, This is no longer your place of belonging. It’s the pit in your stomach, or the pause before you speak. It’s the shiver, the goosebumps that raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Whatever form the whisper takes, it’s not a coincidence. Your life is trying to tell you something. Heeding these signs can open the doors to your personal evolution, pushing you toward your life’s purpose. Ignoring them or sleepwalking through your life, is an invitation to chaos. In this Super Soul podcast, Oprah sits down with such gifted writers and thought leaders as Shauna Niequist, Dani Shapiro, Caroline Myss, Adyashanti, Jon Kabat Zinn, Cheryl Strayed, Pema Chödrön, Amy Purdy, John Lewis, Wes Moore, Kerry Washington and Thomas Moore. She discusses her near-death experience and recovery from suffering an almost fatal stroke. Sharon also shares behind-the-scene stories from the famous interrogation scene in Basic Instinct.
