Keep the episodes coming ladies.
Educational AND entertaining! I love listening to these ladies nerd out!
Discovered this podcast while I searching for my students different forms of media on the topic of HIV/AIDS. This podcast was extremely well researched and the message was beautiful. So informative and well done!
The hosts take highly complex biological and sociological (they wouldn’t call it that, maybe, but they break down how disease moves through & is handled by society) processes into not only informative but engaging and accessible pieces. I love the depth and breadth of their sources and how they’re able to bring the best parts out into the podcast. I also enjoy the quarantinis - it’s a fun addition to the show. My only complaint is that sometimes the sound mixing is really off - intros will sometimes be super quiet (especially if it’s someone else that they’ve interviewed) and then when the hosts start speaking it normalizes. It’s not enough for me to dock any stars, though - just a minor thing to watch out for when you’re listening!
The hosts are hilariously enthusiastic about disease. Love it!
This podcast will also make you laugh! I’ve been listening for awhile now, & this is such a fun podcast if you’re a ID “fan” like myself. The Erins crack me up when discussing the nastiest diseases, but it’s so incredibly fascinating. Amazing podcast, ladies!
Love this podcast. It’s amazing and terrifying at the same time. I didn’t know I was interested in infectious diseases but here we are.
I’m obsessed! I want 100 more episodes to binge at my desk job! I’ve already recommended it to about 10 people!
What a wonderful surprise! If you would like to ingest important information with delivered by two intelligent women with contagiously fun personalities with a splash of sarcasm and dark humor, look no further. They will have you at achoo.
I love everything about this podcast. It has a very "my favourite murder" vibe, but the hosts are grad students and the killers are microbes instead of psychos. It is a perfect mix of science, history and silliness.
This podcast is basically made for me. I'm a huge history and infectious diseases dweeb, and this is such a fun, interesting way to learn about both. I love, love, love it. The Erins are easy to listen to, have a great rapport, and totally make you feel like you're having a conversation about all the grimy details of the plague or whatever with your friends. I learn stuff in every episode that I'm so jazzed about I tell everyone I'm close to (I'm sure they super appreciate it). Literally the only downside is I wish there were new episodes more frequently. If you like history, if you like learning about infectious diseases, if you like having fun, definitely give this a listen.
Binge listened to season 1 and could not stop. Informative, interesting and funny. Ridiculously addictive. I really love the fact that (for non-epidemiologists) this information can be readily used and applied. For example, as reasons to not shake your bosses hand. Or to impress during speed dating. Only drawback is that I now want to live inside a plastic bubble. But given that too many diseases have spread via boat, I’ll make sure it’s airmailed to me...
You might even say it’s.... infectious? The girls enthusiasm is.... contagious. Im not immune to listening to multiple episodes at a time. Resistance is futile. You will catch the podcast disease. I could do this all day.
I didn't think I could ever be this invested or interested in infectious diseases but, here we are. I love the humour the girls bring but they do a brilliant job of making this a super accessible podcast for people who aren't as great with the science side of things. I feel so intelligent listening to this!
Totally addicted to this fantastic podcast. So well researched and delivered with a dash of humour.

i absolutely LOVE this podcast & completely binged it in about the course of a week!! i’ve learnt loads of things about disease that i never knew i wanted to learn and have started to do wider reading of my own. the absolute best part about this is the erins: they obviously LOVE these topics so much and they really get their passion across and it’s absolutely infectious (pardon the pun). they talk about disease in an easily accessible way but also in a funny way so that it’s not too dire and depressing. would thoroughly recommend!! GB
Really enjoying each episode and as someone with a biochem background, it’s fun learning so much history behind the biology!! However, I’m finding that it’s a very quiet podcast. Having to turn it up very high to hear them at a normal level GB
Such a clever mix of real factual brilliance and witty comments. Love it! GB
Until you make peace with who you are, you'll never be content with what you have.
