Molly Bish was 16 years old and working as a lifeguard at Comins Pond in Warren. She’d only been working there about a week on June 27th, 2000 when her mother dropped her off for her 10:00 shift. Swimmers would be arriving any minute, but just minutes later when they started piling in for swim lessons, there was no lifeguard on duty. In a matter of minutes Molly vanished, but it would be three years before her partial remains would be discovered, and over twenty with no answers. This case remains unsolved to this day, although the investigation is very much active. **Anyone With information about the Molly Bish case should call the State Police tip line at 508-453-7575 Sources:   As always thank you to our sponsors: CBS’s For Heaven’s sake  ThredUp: Get an extra 30% off your first order at Daily Harvest: Go to and enter promo code morbid to get twenty-five dollars off your first box! My favourite podcast of all timeDuring COVID I was let go from a job I loved so much. I sadly quickly spiralled into a deep depression and was filled with anxiety everyday. I had no enthusiasm for the things I loved especially true crime. I managed to find a new job and after my training I was surprised when they told us we could have our earphones in so I thought about listening to a podcast for the first time. I started on another podcast that isn’t Morbid and i caught up so quick I was left feeling a bit.. meh! My true crime needs were not satisfied!! I stumbled across Morbid and I have laughed every single day since. Ash and Alaina make me feel like we’re all part of a family & that we’re in the same room listening to them. There’s no awkwardness, they’re always laughing and joking where it’s appropriate & I love a good potty mouth. I listen to repeats of listener tales when I’m feeling down or just need a good laugh and now that I’m caught up I’m relistening to all the episodes as well as a member on Patreon. Making murder enjoyable to listen toIt took me a while to “settle” into this podcast. Mainly because of the Americanisms and their type of humour. I do find their tangents rather annoying at times and I still find times I want to give up on the podcasts, and other times I enjoy it. So it can be hard work to listen to at times. There are definitely worse podcasts to listen to! They do cover a lot of the big cases as well as ones I’ve never come across and I love their listener episodes. At times the jokes can come across as inappropriate, but I know it’s to try and make the topic less gruesome. The research is pretty good, though delivery can be hit and miss. Upset victims family - still not addressedI used to listen to this all last year, but recently there have been a number of issues left unaddressed Most importantly: a victims family member got in touch to say how devastated he was to hear of his fathers death being discussed so flippantly, and how they included details his family members didn’t know for the world to see. They also uploaded photos of him and his father to Instagram without permission. They deleted the post which deleted his comments. It’s been a few weeks, they have yet to comment on it or publicly apologise. Ashley Young’s body was referred to as “the head” in the last 15-20 minutes of the podcast on her, extremely disrespectful. In the Brittanee Drexel case pt. 2 (which some have claimed has upset her family members), two girls who were never charged with a crime had slanderous unverified emails read out about them on air by the girls, who seemed to delight in their bullying of two people we have no idea did anything wrong (and the police don’t think so). Making claims like this can be illegal, so I don’t know what they are playing at. Fans then, encouraged by the vitriol, doxxed these women and said “let’s go round with a baseball bat” (direct quote). They are playing with fire here and seem too immature to understand. Severe body shaming of a “bearded lady” in their words, who sounds to many listeners like a woman with PCOS / hirsutism, something many women suffer with. Please read this -I mean best intentions-respectfullyHello Ladies, For what it’s worth, (if you even read these reviews) I want to tell you that I think you both have your hearts in the right place. I love your friendship and hearing that come through on the pod. I love that you both love true crime as much as I do. I like hearing you recount cases ( new ,and repeat to me). True crime is a tough genre . Competitive. I appreciate that it’s not simple and it’s hard to be correct ( politically even) I enjoy most of the content I’ve heard thus far. I want you to know that really suggest ( and I understand you can’t please everyone) that perhaps using much more sensitivity and care with episodes like the one on Kelly Anne Bates. (Episode 129) Im a person who works with women, men and children leaving violent and unsafe situations and you’re correct when you say it’s a complex and sensitive issue. Please don’t feel I’m trying to trash your content as this isn’t at all my goal. I can’t trash it really because it’s quite lovely, overall.( for the subject matter, of course!) But I will be real too; i feel it’s unkind to jot speak up if there is an issue..i also never ever so.. I truly don’t feel like intimate partner violence and abuse was approached in a responsible way in this one. God I feel bad saying that but it’s true. Although the language you used was considerate in the end, I feel this episode may have deterred some women from getting the help they need. I am just one person but I ask that maybe you consider in future taking less of a judge-mental tone from the start. It is quite literally vital ( albeit, you had corrected yourselves in the end and provided resources ) when it comes to” a young girl dating an older man”, the parents ( although you dole out sympathy to them ,as the afterthought ) . The reactions of shock followed by judgemental comments ..quickly saved by corrections.. Im sure you understand that with content creation comes responsibility and just because someone says “I understand “ and “this is what they do, the abusers” and “ya actually, I don’t have no clue what I would do in that situation” after a parade of your opening comments like :“ there’s no way my child..”, “ I couldn’t ever be In that position” and “ id lock up my daughter..”... resources at the end of the episode... It doesn’t erase away your opening tone and that you’ve made those comments. I was deterred as a professional working as intimate partner and family violence counselor and advocate within minutes of your opinion to Kelly Anne’s story. I swear ,I truly mean no offense. I really don’t. I can tell you have the best intentions and your podcast isn’t defined by this one episode , I’m just letting you know that this may have furthered away a person, one person from getting the help they need because the message was made to feel judgemental and Callous. Frankly that’s just one person more than we can afford. IPV already does a job of Taking lives .. I also understand that the fate of people in this predicament does not rest on your shoulders. Nor should it. I do believe you set your intention out to help People when you created this and of course to tell a story.. I also understand that as content creators discussing this subject, you want to not only do that but connect people to resources .. I would want to know the best way to convey the messaging because I was lost after the initial reactions..and I know you want to help ,and not hinder ... You both have the rare ability today to consider and edit your thoughts after they are said aloud to the world. That is a gift. I hope this convey’s to you both that you do a lovely job at banter and conveying generally correct case information and storytelling, but please; I had to say something on this ( I honestly never comment as I don’t really think what I have to say, one way or the other, is generally of value but in this instance-it is !) I just suggest perhaps trying to be more mindful of your tone and delivery of this -as a subject. If would suggest should you choose to cover this topic in the future, consult a IPV counsellor ( one near to you, locally perhaps ) before covering intimate partner violence cases ending in murder( or otherwise) . It’s so so delicate. If you want help to be a part of the solution and put out effective messaging.. If it were me producing a podcast, I would want someone to give me useful feedback .. whatever it’s worth... Perhaps someone else who works in Services has already left a comment as such. Pardon me if this is the case. Best wishes and thank you for the overall entertaining content you put out. Cheers.Score: 5/5

And in general - it's tedious to hear the constant, increasingly fake sounding bluster and empty insults every single time a "bad guy" is mentioned. They should check out True Crime Island for how to balance this type of commentary. And how to be actually funny while seeming genuinely outraged. The worst: what is going on with the ads? Am now bingeing every episode! The research is amazing, the girls are so empathetic and also bring a wonderful dark humour, by laughing at themselves, absolutely not about the very tragic stories. Episode 214: The Tragic Case of Molly Bish

Episode 213: Colleen Stan AKA The Girl In The Box

It’s an Ashcentric doozy up in here. We’re covering the case of the girl in the box, aka, Colleen Stan. Colleen was twenty years old on May 19 1977 when she accepted a ride from Cameron and Janice Hooker. They looked to be about her age, and the woman was holding a baby, what could go wrong? The next seven years of Colleen’s life would be an absolute nightmare. She didn’t realize the man driving the car she got into was a sexual sadist and had plans to make her his sex slave. Episode 212: Willie Pickton Part 3 AD FREE!!!

The third and final part of this absolute nightmare has arrived. This episode covers the investigation on the farm TW: some serious animal cruelty is mentioned in the first half. Alaina will take us through some of the things found on the farm, what was done during the investigation to identify remains and what could potentially happen going forward! Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls

Episode 211: Willie "Piggy" Pickton Part 2

Part two of Willie is somehow more bonkers than part one. More and more people are coming forward with their experiences at ~the farm~ but no one is taking this case as seriously as they should. Huge numbers of women are going missing, but are seen as less dead or are put to the bottom of the list because of their “high risk lifestyles.” But somewhere in the middle of our story the investigation gets revamped and Scott Chubb really does his best to save the day, are you ready for the end of this?! Episode 210: Willie Pickton Part 1

I don't even know what to write about this WILD CASE. We’re finally diving into Willie Pictkotn, it’s filthy, it’s dirty, it’s squalor, it’s vile and it’s only the beginning. This is part one of Willie Pickton, we’ll get into the story of his childhood, take a glimpse into his family’s life and then we’ll find ourselves somehow deeper in this foul hole when we reach his adulthood. This is only the tip of the iceberg, and we are horrified.  As always, thank you to our sponsors: Upstart: Find out how Upstart can lower your monthly payments today when you go to Warby Parker: Try 5 pairs of glasses at home for free at ThriveMarket: Join Thrive Market today to get 25% off your first order AND an exclusive FREE gift!
