The Wilderness Reviews
I’ve recently (2016) developed an interest in politics and this pod has a been a great resource to catch me up on the history that has shaped where we are. Thank you, Favreau!
In the Episode about the media and the discussion about what politically motivates people on the left to take action - vote, demonstrate, volunteer, attend a town hall etc - I had this glimmer of hope - that I am not alone in thinking that facts matter and that our government ought to do better at creating a country based on the idea of liberty and justice for ALL. If you like historical context in understanding where we are at now and where the directions forward - this is the podcast for you - just can’t listen with kids around cause everyone at crooked media loves to swear like a sailor on leave.
Hopefully the Dems are listening. Jon is the voice of the party and the ideas he and the guests discuss are a blueprint for moving forward.
As a Canadian who is very interested in US politics this podcast was incredibly interesting. I learned so much, and I am so relieved that there are people in the Democratic Party who want to correct this terrible mistake of Donald Trump getting into power. I was disappointed when it ended. I would have loved to have had a way in which to ask questions? Thank you again
Jon and the squad has done some light introspection but it seems performative. They don’t really see the way the progressive movement is going and they’re missing the plot. I’ve been a faithful listener of Pod Save _____ for a couple years but I think I need to move on. I don’t think they will ever change from their Obama/Hillary era, centrist, technocrat politics.

You guys are the best! I love listening to you because you give me hope for your generation and the future of our country. Thanks for being amazing and so very candid in your podcasts.
I’ve learned so much! It’s deeply thought out and takes a long look at where we have been, where we are and how we got here, and the positive direction we need to take to alter the course of where we are going. Excellent work, Jon. You should be extremely proud to what you have created - I sure am!
Even though I started to have 2016-esque panic attacks during the first few episodes, it was also cathartic to hear this side of history from Jon. He discusses politics in a way that is both reassuring, clear, and insightful without being condescending. Thank you Jon and all of crooked media for being an absolute beacon in these dark dark times.
I have enjoyed all episodes but The Filter was my favorite. So insightful about digital strategies. I learned so much. Thanks!
I did not expect to like this anywhere as much as I do. I expected to enjoy it as background noise, what ended up happening is a I stopped and listened intensely to this amazingly interesting deep dive of American politics which is universal to the left and right across the world.
I’m Australian so know little about American politics but I am loving this podcast! Just awesome!
As we have compulsory voting the centre does hold - but the issue of cultural anxiety is huge all over the west - and the left needs to own “smart on borders “ and not allow the right to wedge you - and cannot be silent - it is the biggest barrier to getting white working class back to listen to you - on worker protection and that the system is rigged and healthcare etc - this series is getting at the heart of the animus that is so powerful in white grievance and fear - great series and lot of voices , open , no BS , and constructive - well done Jon - Fox News is destabilising the world so we are all invested in USA to return to sanity - well done
Boots cost Chuck Norris a fortune! He keeps losing them up people's asses!
This a fantastic, thoughtful, comprehensive and erudite dissection of the Democratic Party and what it might need to do to win the 2018 midterms and 2020 election. I am outside the US, but am an avid devotee of Crooked Media. Their various weekly take on the news is always great, but the opportunity to listen to a reflective love letter to the Democratic Party by Jon Favreau is crucial listening.
I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.
