Please don’t stop the red collar podcast!One of the most intelligent true crime podcasts I’ve ever listened to. High quality analysis from the host, lots of little insights into how to avoid coming to a violent end. It’s just great. It really shows how red collar criminals go from being grifters or conmen or gold diggers to murderers, sometimes serial murderers. They’re not killing for the love of killing though, its usually so their lies and thieving ways don’t get discovered. Please keep it going! It’s fascinating. It’s intelligent!.Score: 5/5

Interesting idea but..I like the idea of covering less common cases related to red collar crimes. But the podcast is far too hard to keep up with. Narrator, please slow down your speaking. I’m not trying to be harsh or a troll, just giving constructive feedback. It feels like you are trying to cover too much for the length of the podcast. I eagerly await each new episode!Red Collar is one of my favourite true crime podcasts. I’m a UK listener from London and tend to relate more to cases closer to home but despite its mainly American content, Red Collar is one of the best by miles. Catherine Townsend, the narrator, researcher and writer is a unique talent – she has a beautiful voice and the ability to single out a simple story of fraud, greed and murder and relays her findings in a seemingly effortless reporting style. Refreshing new insight into true crimeI really love the concept of this podcast and every case is fascinating. I’m from the UK and naturally gravitate and relate to true crime stories closer to home, but this is such a niche and interesting aspect of crime that I’m hooked. Catherine is very well researched and I love that she has a background as a P.I. Seems like maybe there will be two a week now? If so, please keep it up! Only thing is that you do really have to pay full attention when you listen, because she doesn’t mess around with getting to important detail..Score: 5/5

Yikes.The host clearly does not do her due diligence with simply looking up words. Called an anxiety disorder (hypochondria or health anxiety as it may be known) a narcissistic act which I love as it seems ALL audiochuck podcasts are sponsored by betterhelp. If you’re going to use words make sure you know what they mean. I’ve reached out to them several times on several different platforms and complete silence on their end. How are you going to be paid by a therapy app, whilst misusing terms and making them into something malicious when they’re not, and furthermore self mutilation is a completely different thing from hypochondria. Want to likeI really enjoy the concept and the cases covered, but not well written. They cover too much ground (including irrelevant details) too quickly. At times it’s hard to follow. The host fails to use proper nouns/names and unclear who she is speaking about just using pronouns. She occasionally references facts she has not yet revealed making it really hard to follow along, having to rewind and try to put the pieces together myself. A good narrator draws connections and makes points for the listener, but she’s clearly just reading a page (until she goes off script in a TOTALLY different voice, which is so annoying). Practice makes perfectI came here looking for the reviews about the narration. For me, it’s nothing about the accent or writing, it’s the delivery. Plain & simple. The only way to describe it is CT is reading a story, written by someone else, that she’s never seen, scanned over, read thoroughly, or even practiced once, prior to taping. Setting the record straightFor all the people who say they don’t like Catherine’s delivery or that she sounds like she’s reading from a script, you obviously don’t know the first thing about podcasting. Putting together and producing a podcast is very difficult, especially if you’re doing your own research and writing like Catherine does. Of course she is reading from a script, there is no way for her to memorize all her facts and deliver them without some form of notes. Catherine has a gift when it comes to finding and sharing red collar stories, since red collar stories (especially the financial aspect) are often covered less in media then the murder itself. Next time, before you criticize an amazing true crime podcaster, consider what you’re saying…. and maybe listen to more that half of one episode..Score: 5/5

Good…but not as good as it should beGreat stories and research, good voice, but Catherine speaks as though she’s reading off a scrolling teleprompter (pauses and stops at weird spots in the middle of sentences) not as though she’s speaking naturally. She has no narrative flow. It’s so noticeable that it detracts from her otherwise high quality show. Update: Unfollowing. The cringe factor at Catherine’s terrible speaking cadence is too much. Too bad, because narrated by anyone who knew how to speak narratively, these stories would be amazing..Score: 2/5

Good podcast but needs to fact checkI have really enjoyed this podcast until listening to “The Enforcer” in which Catherine Townsend referred to a physician assistant (PA) in a derogatory way, specifically: “the surgeries were not even performed by the doctor, they were performed by a physician assistant who never even went to medical school”. Fact: There are PAs who are trained specifically for surgery. Physician assistants are Advanced Practice Providers who, under the direct or indirect (remote) supervision of a physician are trained in & capable of advanced patient management including diagnosing, treating & managing the care of patients, they are not mere flunkies as insinuated in that episode. Of course Physician Assistants do not attend medical school, they attend physician assistant programs; PAs are governed by the same licensing board as physicians. As a graduate of Stanford University’s PA program and a veteran PA of 20 years I have worked with no physician on site in wilderness medicine clinics, occupational medicine clinics, Urgent cares & more, managing acute & chronic patients, multiple levels of trauma & all age groups. Please, in the future, research a profession before you publicly belittle it on your podcast. Otherwise would give 5 stars..Score: 2/5

Lost meI used to really love this podcast, but I’m having such a hard time following the narrator. The stories she chooses are unusual and not well known. Her research feels very thorough. I love her voice and her accent. The pacing and delivery are really problematic though. There is way too much detail, and it’s delivered in a somewhat monotone way as if reading from a page. She speaks very quickly, and with so many names and details, it’s just too hard to pay attention and keep things straight. I could have maps and photos all over the walls connected by red strings and still be so confused that I have to rewind every few minutes. After a few weeks in a row of unnecessarily complicated relationships between scores of characters, I think I have to give up..Score: 2/5

Most cases are fascinatingBut the delivery is just not that good. The writing style is hard to follow. It feels like it has been written in one go without proofreading. Stories are full of superfluous details, are told in the most confusing way possible and there are pauses in the weirdest places followed by accelerated narration. All in all is very hard to relax and listen. There are some episodes I've had to listen twice and even then I’m not sure I understood what happened. Some episodes are not that bad but it’s weird to me this is an Audiochuck production..Score: 3/5

Good not greatLike all of audio chuck productions, it feels like they’re just reading a Wikipedia. They just pull from sources that actual journalists did the work for.
